Ormiston Senior College

Welcome to Ormiston Senior College - a purpose-built co-education school that has facilities second-to-none catering for Year 11 – 13 students and situated in a fast-growing area of South-East Auckland. The campus is distinctive, and does not look like a traditional school, instead is similar to a university campus.

We are proud of the culture and tradition we are building here at this young school. In addition to high academic achievement, our aim is for our graduating students to be resilient, curious, collaborative, creative and critical thinkers.

Students have the opportunity to make choices about their learning and courses are flexible and can be tailored to the student’s needs. Frequent conversations are held with each student about their learning and progress towards the goals they have chosen.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” W.B. Yeats

International Students can choose to live in an accredited homestay arranged by the school. All our host families are carefully selected by our highly trained and experienced team. We aim to match students with a suitably compatible host family.

All homestay caregivers undertake a rigorous safety process including police vetting in accordance with The Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students.

The International Department hosts a variety of fun activities and events throughout the year for our students. Our students have enjoyed fun activities including a mid-winter dinner, Hobbiton experience, visiting spectacular Regional Parks in the Auckland area, fish and chips at the beach and experiencing Māori culture at a local marae.

We celebrate every international student’s birthday and acknowledge their special day with a birthday cake and card to make their day memorable.
